Ian Dice aka DJ Dice aka The Irthshaeka is a 10 year veteran of the Northern California Undergound Dance scene. Having always had an ear for the vibe of the street, going all the way back to fourth grade, when being one of five kids in the whole school who knew what breaking was. This ofcourse in due time led him to the early Rave scene in 1990. But it was over five years of dancing before he felt the call of the DJ. DJ Dice then spent three years learning the basics of mixing, the hard way with no one to teach him, but this has helped him develop a unique viewpoint & style when it comes both to his deck skills & his choices in music. It was about 4 years before he landed his first major gig, that being the host of a nightly radio show devoted to electronic dance music, entitled "The Sounds of the Underground". it was on 5 nights a week, initially from midnight to 2am, eventually it was moved to 10pm to midnight, due to high listner support. Ofcourse getting this much time to mix only helped DJ Dice develope his techniques further. The show was also a great way for DJ Dice to help build unity among the greater Northern California dance community, as one of the features of the show, was the firday night guest mix sessions, which allowed DJ Dice to bring together DJs from many diverse scenes. But eventually the show came to an end after four years, when the station changed formats. Since this time DJ Dice has focused more on performing for live crowds. Keeping up a consitant schedule of atleast 1 gig a month. Although he was sidelined last fall , while battling Cancer. Luckly he made a full recovery and now the time has come for DJ Dice to kick things in to high gear & get busy! Along with actively seeking more bookings DJ Dice has started to build his studio to start production of his musical project "The Irthshaeka"
