I started djing around 1999 but had been in the rave scene since 1993. My first party was in Syracuse NY, listening to the banging sounds of Jordan Vesteyo. Back then, I listened to tons of NYC hardcore, and was influenced by djs like Heather Heart, Adam X, and Frankie Bones (the old Sonic Groove crew). I came from upstate NY (Binghamton) and moved to North Carolina for a few years for college and hung out at Babylon, the gay house scene in Greensboro and grew more into liking deep house and funky breaks. After moving to Jacksonville in 1998, to finish up college (art history / graphic design) I met a cool cat named Joel that introduced me to Simons and the wonderful music that went on in that famous club, Sasha and Digweed, Richie Hawtin, Young American Primitive, Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Freaky Chakra and my all time favorite djs: Chang and DJ Three (now residing in NYC). Luckily my teacher Joel was into beautiful and melodic music and I started spinning the true house funky stuff, much with a Mark Farina style, and over the years, music has taken me back to the quiet sounds of the old timeless Plastic City Label, and artists such as Terry Lee Brown, Jean F. Concois (two of my favorites), I love happy djs like Jesse Saunders, that can work a crowd, and I also dig any ambient chill out djs. My all time hero in the music industry: Mixmaster Morris. It doesn't get any funkier than that. I love quiet soundscapes in my music. Mostly refered now to "tech house." I love that stuff, Silverlining, Azad Risvi, Tom Gillieron, Joel Brittain, Subverter, Swag Records and all the UK tech house masters. Evil Eddie Richards defintely would be in my top 10. UK tech house is where it's at for me. But I listen to and enjoy all music. I grew up in the 80's so I still rock the old JJFAD type of old school rap, DougeFresh, Slick Rick, and yes, even the old Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie. I am a big fan of the new 80s movement "electroclash" sounds and artists such as Tommie Sunshine, Tiga, DJ Hell and Ellen Alien. I play alot of 80s mashups as well as tech house. Usually people don't know what to expect :)
